M ~ from Zoophonics:  match cut up squares from the Merged Animal Alphabet Grid to an uncut Animal Picture Grid "Game Board". Signal/Sound.
T ~ Question/Graph of the Week Do you like cats?
Read Mama Cat Has Three Kittens again, using magnets as pictures.  Allow children to show the story with magnets.
W ~ Cookie Match - Cut out 2 sets of circles from cardboard, foam sheets, etc.  Decorate to look like cookies with a letter on each cookie.  Children match cookie letters together and signal/sound.
Th ~ Cones and cubes:  Look at the 2D paper shapes of the paper cone and paper cube.  Lead discussion to compare them to ice cream cones and number cubes (dice) that the children are familiar with.  Fold the 2D shapes into the 3D shapes and find new shapes.

All of the children come to Morning Meeting.  The younger ones are provided with quiet, theme-related activities to enjoy while they interact at their own pace in the group activities.

- discuss positional words like in, on, etc.  Using stuffed cat toy, practice putting "Catina" on the chair, under the couch, etc.

Mystery Box - "In my box, I have things that we can use with play dough.  They will cut the dough into fun shapes and they start with /k/." (cookie cutters for play dough)

Table Activities (Morning Meet. Extension games, art)

M ~ watercolor painting with cotton balls on cat shaped paper (loosely cut around cat image)
T ~ Patriot's Day:  Read The Pledge of Allegiance.  Give each child a flag.  Examine flag, discuss colors, count lines, etc.  Have children hold up their flag as class says the pledge. 
Read This Land is Your Land.  Children wave flags as they march to patriotic music like
songs from Yankee Doodle Mickey.

W ~ Create KWL chart, ask how we know what a cat is. List answers.  Watch Cat Power Point, review Nature Card.  Review KWL chart and add any new information.
Th ~ Create clay cookies.  Decorate with sprinkles and chocolate chips and allow to dry.  Shellac.  Attach magnet to back.

Outside Play (Large motor act. indoors in bad weather) - one organized activity will be offered along with plenty of time for free play

F ~ Mix primary colors to make secondary colors.  Free paint - discuss colors in Spanish.  Post on the wall to make a color collage.

Library Day or Music/Dance Time or Cooking Time (helping in the kitchen)
M ~ Library Day
T ~ Play "Cookie, Cookie, who's got the cookie?" or make a poster board cookie and hide it while the children have their eyes covered. Have them look for the cookie. Whoever finds it gets to hide it next.
Create "3" using 3 dots to decorate number.  Let each child count 3 cookies.
W ~ Clap out names/words with 3 syllables (Jenna Belle, Emmalisse, Zachary, etc.)
3 minutes to clean (wipe a table, window, mirror, whatever)
Th ~ Free expression to classical music.  Imagine you're a
~ cloud floating through the sky. 
~ cat prowling, stretching, sleeping.
~ cookie being mixed, cut out and baked.
F ~ Decorate large calico catina cat to post. (Cut out shape from cardboard, cover with fabric swatches.)
